On 25th August 2009 I had been employed by the University of
Glasgow for forty years. In that time I have successfully completed
nine internal technician training classes. I have worked in teaching
laboratories and research laboratories including Electrophysiology,
Developmental Biology, the Electron Microscope unit and with the
Ecologists and Ethologists. In these areas, and in my
work with the Ornithology Group, I have learned various techniques
such as photography, transmission and scanning electron microscopy,
histology, analysis of videotape recordings, computer programing,
computing techniques, HTML, Javascript, radiotelemetry, lipid extraction,
mercury analysis etc. In 1995 I became the webmaster for the Institute of Biomedical and Life Sciences. In 2005 I became the Webmaster for Undergraduate School of the Institute of Biomedical and Life Sciences. I took early retiral 31 July 2010.
